Casa Lolita sits on the ocean side of Cabo del Sol, on a rise above the fairway, with the Sea of Cortez filling the whole horizon. It is a hacienda in the old Cabo manner — quarried stone columns, arched loggias, beamed ceilings, hand-glazed walls — and it is built to be lived in outdoors. There are more than 5,200 square feet of terrace, garden and pool deck, and on most days that is where the house actually happens.
The infinity pool runs the length of the terrace with the water and the horizon lined up behind it. Beside it there is a raised spa, a thatched palapa bar with a hand-tiled counter, a gas grill, and a sunken fire pit ringed by a curved built-in sofa that seats the whole group at once. The lawn beyond is flat, planted and private.
Inside, the great room rises two storeys to a beamed ceiling and a stone chimney, and opens straight through the arches to the terrace. The formal dining table seats twelve under an iron chandelier. The kitchen is a working kitchen — island, breakfast bar, double refrigeration — the kind a private chef can actually cook in. There is a second sitting room with the television for the half of the group that wants a quieter evening.
Five bedrooms, six bathrooms, twelve guests, and nobody shares a bathroom.
What is included in the rate

The bedrooms

- Fourth bedroom — one queen, ocean view, its own balcony, private bathroom.
- Fifth bedroom — two twin beds, private bathroom.
The beds add up to twelve exactly — the number is real, not optimistic. Four of the five bedrooms are in the main residence and all four face the ocean; the fifth is set apart, which is quiet and private but is worth knowing if you are travelling with small children. Ask us and we will tell you exactly where it sits before you book.
Frequently asked questions
Is Casa Lolita on the beach?
No, and we would rather say so plainly. The house looks over the water from a rise, and what lies between the terrace and the sand is the 8th hole of the golf course. The view is unobstructed and the beach is close, but you do not step off the terrace onto sand. If being able to walk straight out onto the beach is the point of your trip, tell us — we have houses that do that, and we would rather move you than have you arrive disappointed.
Can we play the golf course next door?
No — and be careful with what you read elsewhere. The Jack Nicklaus course beside the house was the Ocean Course for years and appears under that name on a lot of listings. It is now the Cove Club Golf Course, and it is private: members and their guests only. Casa Lolita does not come with access to it.
What you can play at Cabo del Sol is the Cabo del Sol Course (formerly the Desert Course), the Tom Weiskopf layout on the mountain side, open to resort guests and visitors and rebuilt in 2023. Beyond the community, Club Campestre San José and Puerto Los Cabos both take outside play. We book tee times for you.
Can we swim at the beach here?
Cabo del Sol is one of the few stretches of the corridor where the water is calm enough to swim — that is one of the reasons the community exists where it does. But the sea changes with the season and the swell, so we check conditions the week you arrive and tell you honestly. Meanwhile the pool is heated on request and the spa is right beside it.
How big is the house?
The 5,200 square feet you may see quoted is the outdoor space — terraces, pool deck and garden — not the interior. We are confirming the interior square footage with the owner and will publish it when we have it in writing. We would rather leave a number blank than print one we cannot stand behind.
Is there a no-smoking rule?
Yes, and it is stricter than most: no smoking indoors or outdoors, anywhere on the property, with a $500 USD penalty. That includes the terrace and the pool deck. It catches people out, so please tell your group before you travel.
Can we bring a dog?
No. Pets are not allowed at Casa Lolita. Better that you know now than at the door.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. The person signing the rental agreement must be at least 30 years old, and must be part of the group staying in the house.
Is housekeeping every day?
Six days a week. There is no housekeeping on Sundays or on Mexican public holidays — that is standard here, and it is written into the rate rather than hidden.
Are there stairs?
Yes. The upper-floor bedrooms are reached by stairs and the interior gallery runs along the second level. The main living areas, the kitchen, the dining room and the terrace are all on one floor. If someone in your party cannot manage stairs, tell us and we will tell you exactly which bedrooms work.
Can we have an event or a party here?
Cabo del Sol is a residential community with quiet expectations and the house has a fixed guest count. Events are not automatic — they need approval, and the number of people in the house cannot exceed the contract. Ask us before you plan anything and we will get you a straight answer.
Can I book it online right now?
Not at the moment — Casa Lolita is booked through us directly, so send us your dates and we will come back with availability and a full quote. There are seasonal minimum stays: three nights most of the year, longer over Thanksgiving and the Christmas–New Year period.
What is not included in the rate?
Mexican taxes and fees are added to the nightly rate: 16% VAT, 4% lodging tax and a sanitation fee. A private chef, groceries, transport and activities are arranged by your concierge and billed separately — you approve every cost before it is booked.
Getting here
Cabo del Sol sits in the middle of the corridor: roughly 25–30 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport and about 20 minutes from the Cabo San Lucas marina, depending on traffic. Everything in both towns is a short drive, and nothing you need is far. We can have a driver waiting for you at the terminal.
