Espíritu Casita 101 sits inside the gated Espíritu enclave in Palmilla, on the hillside above the Sea of Cortez. The terrace is the reason to book it. A private heated infinity pool runs along the edge with the ocean behind it, and beside it there is a jacuzzi, a fire pit lounge set right at the view, and a palapa with a hanging daybed and deep cushioned seating. A stone fountain sits under a pergola in the garden, and there is outdoor dining, a grill and a large lawn. Sunset from this terrace is the photograph people take home.
Inside, the living room is anchored by a carved stone fireplace and opens directly onto the terrace. The kitchen has a talavera-tiled backsplash, a copper hood and an island with bar seating, and the dining area sits beside it. Colour runs through the whole house — Mexican textiles, folk art, painted tile — which makes it feel like a home in Los Cabos rather than a rental anywhere.
All six bedrooms are en-suite, most with ocean views, carved headboards and their own terrace or balcony. The villa includes a golf cart for getting around Palmilla, plus house cleaning, air conditioning, ceiling fans, a fireplace, safe, washer and dryer, garage parking and high-speed internet.
