Casa Finisterra sits high on the cliffs of Pedregal, the gated hillside community above Cabo San Lucas, looking straight out over the Pacific. It was designed by the New York architect Steven Harris and won an American Institute of Architects New York Honor Award — and it shows: clean lines, natural materials and windows placed so that the ocean is present in almost every room. Four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and roughly 7,537 square feet, for up to 8 guests.

The pool terrace is the heart of the house. The pool is not enormous and does not try to be; it is restrained, set into the rock, and the view it opens onto does the work. Several lounging areas spread across the terrace for sun in the morning, shade in the afternoon and an outdoor fireplace and dining table once the sun drops into the Pacific.

Inside, the living areas open to the terrace and are anchored by a wood fireplace. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped, with a wine fridge, an ice maker and a water purification system, and the dining table seats eight. There is central air conditioning, satellite TV, a networked audio system that runs indoors and out, a gym and high-speed wireless internet. The primary bedroom has a king bed, a private balcony and an en-suite bathroom; the other three have queen beds, en-suite bathrooms with dual vanities and walk-in closets. Every bedroom faces the ocean.

Daily housekeeping is included except Sundays and Mexican holidays, and Pedregal is gated with 24-hour security. As guests of the community you can reserve the Pedregal tennis and pickleball courts in advance. Downtown Cabo San Lucas, the marina, the restaurants and the nightlife are only minutes down the hill, which is the rare part: this much quiet, this close to town. What are the bed configurations?

The primary bedroom has a king bed, a private balcony, a flat-screen TV and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The other three bedrooms each have a queen bed, an en-suite bathroom with dual vanities, a walk-in closet and an ocean view.

Is Casa Finisterra beachfront?

Is smoking allowed?

No. The villa is entirely non-smoking, indoors and outdoors. A $350 USD penalty may apply. Please also keep wet clothing and towels off the indoor furniture.

Is there a quiet-hours rule?

Yes, and it is enforced. The Pedregal homeowners association has a noise ordinance: loud noise or music after 10:00 PM draws a response from Pedregal Security, and penalties can go as far as terminating the rental. It is a residential community, so evenings on the terrace are best kept relaxed.

Is there a minimum age to book?

Yes. The signing renter must be at least 25 years old and must stay at the villa for the duration of the reservation.

Can you arrange a private chef, butler or transportation?

Yes. The Blue Desert Cabo concierge coordinates private chef and butler service, airport and in-town transportation, grocery pre-stocking, restaurant and court reservations, spa treatments, golf, yacht charters and excursions.
