La Datcha Cabo San Lucas | Beachfront Estate for 20 with Snow Room and Spa
La Datcha Cabo San Lucas is a beachfront estate of roughly 20,000 square feet that directly overlooks the Pacific. It has 10 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms and sleeps up to 20 guests. It is only rented as a whole — never by the room — which makes it a house for a family, a group of friends, or a company taking the whole place.
The estate is three interconnected buildings of two or three floors each, inspired by the traditional Mexican hacienda: brightly coloured and textured interiors, terraces, shaded patios and fountains, with a great deal of locally made furniture and decoration. The look is Mexican-American — textiles, mosaics, paintings, sculpture and woven work — carried through by the owners, whose Russian roots give the house its name.
The spa — including a snow room
The spa has a sauna, a Turkish bath and a massage room, and something almost nobody else in Mexico has: a SNOW ROOM kept at about −10 °C. You step out of the sauna and into falling snow, on the tip of the Baja peninsula. There is also a gym with new equipment, and trainers can be arranged.
The pool, the fire island and the ocean
The infinity pool is set so its edge merges with the ocean horizon. In the middle of it there is an island with a fire, and a sitting area inside the pool where dinner can be served by the fire. There are two separate sunbathing areas: one on the beach itself, the other by the pool on the large terrace in front of the main building. The ocean is seconds from the door.
The bedrooms
Ten bedrooms — two large and eight regular — and every one of them has an en-suite bathroom, a separate toilet and a walk-in wardrobe. The two large bedrooms each have their own adjacent private terrace: one with a fireplace, the other with its own swimming pool. The bedroom with the pool also has a study.
Eating together
There are several dining areas, so twenty people can sit down at once: a long table in the main hall, the fire-lit setting inside the pool, and the terraces. The house holds part of a private wine collection built up over years.
Whales from your bedroom
The Sea of Cortez is a breeding ground for blue and humpback whales. From November to April they can be watched from the bedrooms and from the pool, without leaving the property.

Can we book just a few bedrooms?
No. La Datcha is only rented as a whole house. It is designed for one group taking the entire estate — family, friends or a company — not for separate parties sharing.

Is there really a snow room?
Yes. The spa has a snow room kept at about −10 °C — snow, in Baja California Sur. It sits alongside a sauna, a Turkish bath and a massage room. It is one of the few, and possibly the first, in Mexico.

Can we see whales from the house?

Yes, with new equipment. Trainers can be arranged with notice.
Can you arrange a private chef?
Yes. Our concierge arranges private chefs, pre-arrival grocery stocking, transport, tee times, yachts, sportfishing and tours. These are quoted separately from the rental rate — ask us and we will price your dates exactly.
What can we do from the house?
Sportfishing, yacht charters, golf, tennis, surfing, diving and snorkelling, whale watching in season, ATV and side-by-side tours, horse riding, cooking classes, tequila tastings and mixology. Our concierge books all of it.
Is it good for an event or a celebration?
The house is built for a group taking it whole, so it suits milestone trips. Events need approval in advance and may carry extra conditions and fees. Tell us the date and the headcount and we will confirm what is possible.
Events are not automatic: they need our written approval in advance, and an event fee, community permits and a damage deposit may apply.
Where exactly is it?
On the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, in the Pedregal area. Los Cabos International Airport is roughly 45 minutes by car.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM.
Are pets allowed? Can we smoke?
Please ask us about pets — it must be confirmed for your dates before you travel. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the villa. Guests who wish to smoke may do so outside, in the open-air areas.
