Villa Las Arenas is a four-bedroom oceanfront villa in Punta Ballena, right beside Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection, a few minutes outside Cabo San Lucas. The pool deck sits over the water on the Pacific, which gives the house its character: the sound of the ocean is the constant, and the sunsets are the ones people come to this side of the peninsula for. Two things are worth saying in the first paragraph rather than the last. The Pacific here is not a swimming ocean — it is for the view and the sound, and your concierge will point you to the calm beaches nearby. And the villa is on one single level, with no stairs anywhere, which is rare in Los Cabos and matters enormously to some groups.

There are four bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, plus a half bathroom for the common areas. The primary bedroom has a King bed and an en-suite with a hydromassage tub; two further bedrooms have King beds with en-suite showers; and a guest casita holds two Queen beds with its own en-suite bathroom. Every bedroom has satellite television. Eight guests, four bathrooms, nobody sharing.

Outside there is an oceanfront pool deck, a palapa, a hot tub, a fire pit facing the water, and — the detail most listings would skip — a separate stone patio with a fountain and sofas, set away from the pool. It is the quiet corner of the property, which a house for eight genuinely needs. Daily housekeeping is included, there is a private check-in, and a villa manager looks after the property. The Blue Desert Cabo concierge, included with every stay, arranges a private chef, a butler, groceries, airport transport, spa, golf, yachts and fishing.

One Level, No Stairs

Villa Las Arenas is built entirely on one level. There are no stairs between the bedrooms, the living areas, the kitchen or the pool deck. We state it as a plain fact rather than claiming certification to any accessibility standard, because we have not measured doorways or bathroom clearances and we are not going to tell you something we have not verified. What we can tell you is that a guest who cannot manage steps can reach every part of this house, which is not true of most villas on this coast — and that if you tell us what the person travelling with you specifically needs, we will go and check it and answer you honestly before you book.

Oceanfront on the Pacific — And What That Means for Swimming

The pool deck at Villa Las Arenas is over the water. That is the whole appeal, and it comes with a condition: the Pacific on this stretch of coast is not safe for swimming. The currents are strong and the surf breaks hard, and that does not change with the season. What you get is the view, the sound and the best sunsets in Los Cabos from your own deck — plus a pool and a hot tub at the house, and the calm, swimmable beaches of the Sea of Cortés side within a short drive. Your concierge will tell you which one suits your dates. If swimming in the ocean from the house is what you are picturing, tell us and we will send you a different villa instead of selling you this one.

Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection, Next Door

Villa Las Arenas sits directly beside Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection. Its restaurants and spa can be booked through your concierge, subject to availability — which is the honest version. Staying next door does not give you access to the resort's facilities, and we would rather set that straight now than have you arrive expecting a beach club wristband. What it does mean is that one of the best kitchens and one of the best spas in Los Cabos are a two-minute walk from your front door, and we will do the asking for you.

The Four Bedrooms

Every bedroom at Villa Las Arenas has a private en-suite bathroom and satellite television.
